The Paws in Harmony Approach
As a client of mine, you are assessed individually and treated as such. I do not hand you the same program I handed the client before you — because you and your dog aren’t the same as them.
There is an art to this work that is cultivated from my 17 years in this industry.
When I was a young trainer, I was obsessed with the Cesar Milan style, the Positive Reinforcement style, the Balanced Approach — you name it — I’ve tried it.
In my journey, I have learned that there is so much that the dog training world gets wrong about these incredible creatures.
Over the past 17 years, I have refined my highly successful, unique approach to canine behaviour and dog training and it goes far beyond placing rigid labels on your dog or giving you abstract and generic all-or-nothing rules about living with dogs that leave you in an endless cycle of training.

Puppy Classes
Starting right isn't just about sit and stay. Our puppy programs go deep — into your puppy's nervous system, their sensory world, and the attachment they're building with you. Raise a dog who is genuinely confident, connected, and ready for life.
Walk & Training
Real world practice with someone who knows what they're doing. We pick up your dog while you‘re out, take them into the world, and do the careful, thoughtful work with them. You come home to a tired dog who has already done the work.
Meet the Owner
Hi, I'm Sydney!
Seventeen years in this industry and I'm still humbled by every single canine creature I meet.
I grew up surrounded by dogs - Border Collies, specifically. My grandfather was a trick trainer and competed trick titles — I watched him closely. I also come from a long line of school teachers, which probably explains why helping people understand their dogs has always felt more natural to me than just telling them what to do.
I got my start nearly 17 years ago as a dog groomer, spent years as a professional dog walker and pet sitter, immersed myself in animal shelter work and rescue work and have fostered over 15 dogs in my lifetime. I know what it's like to look at a dog who's struggling and feel completely lost. I also know what it feels like when something finally clicks.
For the past decade and a half, I've studied canine behaviour with a passion. After leaving the animal shelter to pursue my dream 3 years ago, I founded Paws in Harmony Canine Consulting. Working closely with some of the most intelligent minds in the industry to ensure we leave no stone unturned, helping dogs and humans live the best lives together they can is my passion in life.
Certified as a Professional Dog Trainer through the Certification Counsel for Professional Dog Trainers, I have the education and experience to back me up but you can trust that I'm not about to walk into your house, hand you or your dog a rigid rule book and leave.
I'm here to be your coach, your guide, your friend — and help you find what's already waiting for you and your dog.
Our services are for the guardian who knows there is more to this relationship than sit-stays and place commands.
Who have tried the treats, the distractions, the management, the commands. Who’ve been told that their dog is just "dominant", “overaroused” or "stubborn" and something about that just never sat right.
